Fred Alexander Samoskevich

Fred Alexander Samoskevich, 73, of Woodbury died December 14 in his home. Mr Samoskevich was born June 20, 1941, in Bridgeport, and was the son of the late Veronica and Nick Samoskevich.

Survivors include his beloved wife Ann Murrihy of Woodbury; four sons and their wives, Fred A. Samoskevich, Jr, and Patty of Sandy Hook, Stephen and Rosemary Samoskevich of Trumbull, John and Teri Samoskevich of Irons Station, N.C., and Kevin and Andrea Samoskevich of Shelton; two brothers, Peter, and his wife Chris, Samoskevich of Newtown and Nick Samoskevich of Naugatuck; one sister, Mary Palo of Bridgeport; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. His brother, George Samoskevich, and his sister, Veronica Samoskevich, predeceased Mr Samoskevich.

He graduated from Bullard Havens Technical School and was a self-employed builder/carpenter. Mr Samoskevich served in the National Guard Army Reserves. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising racing pigeons, and gardening. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to gather Thursday, December 18, at 10 am, at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at the 11 am service at First Baptist Church of Shelton, 178 Leavenworth Road, Shelton. Interment will be private. Friends may call Wednesday, December 17, from 4 to 8 pm, at Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home.
