Mario Varvatsis and Christina Matsis

Steven and Deborah Matsis of Newtown are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Christina Matsis, to Mario Varvatsis, son of Vasilis and Androulla Varvatsis of Meriden.

The bride-to-be is a 2006 graduate of Newtown High School, and she will be graduating in May from the University of Connecticut with a doctorate of pharmacy.

Her fiancé is a 2001 graduate of Francis T. Maloney High School. He also graduated from the University of Connecticut, with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed by Burns and McDonnell, an engineering consulting company, as a project manager.

An October 2012 wedding is being planned.
