Grade 4

Filan LLC Nighthawks 18, Tootsie Rolls 10: The Filan LLC Nighthawks kicked off the season with a good win versus the tough Tootsie Rolls. Team Captain for the game Angela Carriero scored 4 points for the Nighthawks. Karsen Pirone led all scorers with 10 points to lead the Nighthawks to victory. Jane Shearin and Sarah Tressler each added a bucket. Kali Ryder and Hallie Filan were strong on defense.

Green Hornets 16, Purple Crush 12 and Purple Crush 22, Celtics 20: The Purple Crush hit the hardwood running with a season opening double-header at Sandy Hook School. After losing to the Green Hornets 16-12 in the first game, the Purple Crush warmed up to defeat the Celtics 22-20 in a suspense filled final game. The win was accomplished by a total team effort with Rebecca Alicea, Nicky Shairer and Annabel Terry all scoring 6 points apiece. Rebecca Alicea was also the defensive star of the day by drawing a charge against the aggressive Celtics. Shannon Jackman helped the Celtics come back from a 14-2 halftime deficit by scoring 8 points in the second half. Wilson and Murray also scored 6 points for the Celtics. In the first game, Annabel Terry played great offensively for the Purple Crush scoring 8 points. Eileen McCleary, Sydney Howard and Olivia Steare all scored 2 points apiece. For the Green Hornets, Laura Augenbraun and Virginia Hepp combined for 10 points. Ella Marsh was the defensive star and Savannah Duffy led the team in rebounds.

Grades 5-6

Inspirations For Your Home, LLC/Fighting Irish 26, Monstrosity 24: The Fighting Irish were led by Alexandra Futterman with 7 points, followed by Dylan Zahansky with 6, Casey McClean with 5 and Shannon Chheh with 4. The scrappy defense by the Irish, led by Sam Biicho and Sarah Lindell held the Monstrosity offense in check while allowing for some quick points at the other end. The Monstrosity put together a strong effort even if the scoring, led by Carly Swierbut and Cailin Wilson with 6 points each, was not clicking. The defense was tough in this hard fought game with Caitlyn Child coming up with 4 steals and Jenna Carvalho collecting 11 rebounds. Dani Otero gave her team a chance to win by dishing out 3 assists.

Raymond James Financial/Shock 15, Shooting Stars 12: The Shooting Stars took on the Shock in a well-matched line up. Stars came out of the gates with an early lead led by fine offensive play by Charli Condon and Greta Staubly, 4 and 6 points respectively. Larkin Huffman and Briana Lovely were defensive standouts for the Stars. The Shock came back in the fourth quarter riding on tough team defense led by Lexi Leidlein, Jordan Williams and the Vodola sisters to overtake the Stars 15-12. Rebecca Gavel led the offense to claim a hard fought victory against a great team.

Space Narwhals 25, Tasmanian Devils 25: The Narwhals came out of the gates strong behind a tremendous offensive effort by Cory Mangold who led all scorers with 15 points and the lead was 8 points at the half. The Narwhals defense, led by Hayley Lambert and Lindsay Merrifield, kept the Tassies from generating very much offense, but strong play from Ava Pettrellese kept the Tassies within striking distance. The Tassies came out in the second half with some strong defense of their own led by Marit Lyon and Kayla O’Rourke. This allowed the Tassies to claw their way back into the game through some outstanding guard play by Jackie Moccio and Sienna Cummings. This was set up by some great screens by Nathalie Schickendantz. The Tassies led late but a timely basket by Sonia Ahmaripour tied the game and that is how it ended.

Hip Hoopsters 24, Dr Della Schmid Chiropractic Centre/Sunburst 13: The Hoopsters came out of the gate fast with an early run to open up a lead in the first-quarter led by Natalie Kelchner’s 6 first quarter points. In the second quarter, the sunburst seemed to find their defensive legs as they held the Hoopsters scoreless behind strong rebounding by Jackie O’Leary and steals from Sarah Dowling. The third quarter brought more of the same with tough defense keeping the scoring to a minimum led by Emily Krasnickas on the ball and Cathy Hyeon’s rebounding for the Hoopsters and Emmas Schmidt-Tarnish and Ashley Solomon for the Sunburst. With the strong ball control by Heather Azzarito, the Sunburst couldn’t seem to gain enough momentum to make a run, although they never gave up as exhibited by the efforts of Rachel O’Grady, Madeline Brock and Chloe Bigwarfe.

Grades 7-8

One Eyed Pig BBQ/Da Bears 23, World Wide Coverage Corporation/Spartans 15: Da Bears were led to victory behind the strength of Madilyn Cole’s 8 points and 5 rebounds. Megan Kelleher had an excellent all-around game, dishing out 5 assists, scoring 6 points, and pulling down 6 rebounds. Simone Afriyie had 3 steals and 2 points, while Sarah Bender cleaned the glass, grabbing 6 rebounds. Kayla DiSibio and Marissa Thill each scored 6 points to pace the Spartans offense. Grace Larsen and Emily Neave both played outstanding defensive games.

The Celtics 24, The E-Lemonaders 18: Allie Indelicato was a one person offensive force, scoring a league high 16 points to lead The Celtics to victory. Diana Kirkman chipped in 4 huge points to help hold off The E-Lemonaders’ comeback. Michaela Jackman led The Celtics rebounding effort with 10, while Tegan Doherty, Alexis Tucker, and Joanna Vodola played smothering defense. Ashley Lynch paced the E-Lemonaders offense with 5 points, while Shannon Lynch handed out 2 assists. Abbie Kohler was the defensive stopper with 2 steals and Aimee Talbot led the team with 3 rebounds.

South Cove Globetrotters 24, CTS Micro/Flintstones 17: The Spartans used a well-balanced scoring attack to defeat The Flintstones. Jess Shairer scored 8 points, while Kamdynn Moroney, Caroline Caporale, and Brittney Antous each scored 4. Hannah Logan and Claire Beiter provided the defensive pressure, limiting The Flintstones’ offensive opportunities. Sarah Spillane and Samantha Lotko led the CTS Micro Bulldogs with 4 points each. Jaimy Fellin led the team with 8 rebounds and Katie Laaksonen led the team with 4 steals. Sydney Flint, Emily Bell and Nicole Frascatore played tough defense.

The Blitz 24, Style 11: The Blitz were holding on to a slim 12-9 lead going into the 4th quarter when Emily Montoya and Maddie Pirone got hot and scored a combined 12 points to help The Blitz pull away. Montoya and Pirone both finished with 10 points apiece. Carly Kreshpan chipped in 4 points and added 6 rebounds, while Madeline Marlin pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds. Kayla O’Sullivan and Megan Nahmias played outstanding defense at the top of the zone, shutting down the Style’s potent offense. Olivia Hamula and Kayla Ward paced the Style offensive attack with 4 points each. Tessa Leon-Gambetta had 3 assists and Nicole Russo was the defensive star with 3 steals. Annie Hoffman was effective in the paint, grabbing 4 rebounds.

Grade 8

Newtown 40, Ridgefield 31: Led by strong team defense and excellent rebounding, Newtown beat a strong Ridgefield club. Alana Murray, Kelly Merrick and Haley Ryan led the defensive pressure. Merrick, Caitlyn Linden, Katie Reilly and Maren Brady controlled the glass against a much bigger Ridgefield squad. Ryan led Newtown with 11, including three 3-point shots, while Merrick and Lauren Wilcox combined for 16.

Newtown 44, Waterbury Rec 46: Waterbury Rec came from behind and beat Newtown by hitting a jump shot with two seconds left on the clock. The Newtown squad led by as much as 9 points early in the fourth quarter, but missed opportunities eventually came back to bite the locals who could not put away a very good Waterbury team. The defensive stalwarts for Newtown were Alana Murray, Mali Klorczyk and Caitlyn Linden. Haley Ryan led the team in scoring with 20 and Klorczyk had 11.

Boys

Grades 2-3

Geckos vs Newtown Heat: The Geckos and the Heat played a great game on Saturday. Noah Dinallo, Jack Petersen and Mason Woodward were great on offense for the Geckos. The Gecko defense was led by the strong play of Jake Mailloux, John Sullivan and Andrew Bazuro.

Grade 3

St Marks 28, Mavs 10: Trevor Barrett, CJ Demers and Luke Hannan contributed to the scoring for the Mavs. Michael Haddick and CJ Demers led the team in rebounding with 3 and 4 respectively, as they battled the opposing big men all day. Despite a third quarter rally, the St Marks team pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Grade 4

White Mavs 23, New Fairfield 10: Jack Mulligan led the scoring with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Jack Kuligowski and Kyle Sullivan led the Mavs offense with strong play at point guard with 5 assists each. The Mavs defense held New Milford to 3 field goals and was led by Max Wrage, Sammy Eppers, Jack Lydon and Kyle Good.

Mavs Blue 29, 3rd Grade Mavs 16: Joey Rios led the team with 11 points, while Liam Murphy, Nick Kalra, Drew Mitchell, and Keenan Murphy combined for strong offense in the win. The team’s defense was led by Zach Droukas, Kieran Coffey, Dillon Robinson and Liam Murphy, who had 3 steals. Josh Taylor was strong on the boards with 6 rebounds and 1 blocked shot. CJ Demers led all scorers with 12 points; he led the young upstart Mavs with his gritty defensive and offensive aggressiveness. Luke Hannan and Trevor Barrett led the team in rebounding, while Trevor Barrett and Karl Miller also contributed to the scoring. The height and rebounding prowess of Mavs Blue was too much for the Mavs 3 team.

White Mavs 42, Hurricanes 6: In a late afternoon tip in Milford, the White Mavs cruised to a comfortable win. Kyle Good and Jack Mulligan each had 12 points and dominated the boards. Jack Kuligowski led the offense with a long three pointer to give the Mavs the lead for good. Max Wrage and Charlie Eppers combined for 8 points, while Kyle Sullivan and Patrick Oberstadt led the offense with strong play at point guard. Sammy Eppers was all over the floor on defense and had 5 steals.

New Canaan 30, 4th Grade Blue Mavs 18: Keenan Murphy put up 6, while Joey Rios, Liam Murphy, Nick Kalra, Dillon Robinson and Zach Droukas combined for an additional 12 points. Kieran Coffey and Drew Mitchell kept the pressure on defense in the loss.

Bullets 27, Tigers 24: Patrick Oberstadt and JP Iaropoli combined for 14 points for the Bullets. JP Ford led the offense with 4 assists. Myles Ricks had 5 steals and Stephen Sedensky 10 boards to lead the defense. For the Tigers, Jared Dunn had 10 points. Atila Sepkin had 5 assists from the point. Tucker Depuy had 4 steals and Justin DeThomas had 9 rebounds on defense.

Vikings 35, Green Hornets 27: Shaine Luzietti and Kyle Godfrey combined for 20 points for the Vikings, while Stephen Dooley had 3 assists to lead the offense. Thomas Armstrong was all over the court with 5 steals on defense and Chris Beal swept the boards with 8 rebounds. For the Green Hornets, Nick Kalra and Luke Azzarito combined for 14 points. James Tibolla distributed the ball well with 3 assists. Bryan Bailey had 3 steals and Stephen Cheh had 7 boards on defense.

Green Goblins 33, Wolves 24: Max Wrage and Patrick Grover combined for 16 points for the Goblins, while Kyle Sullivan manned the point and had 5 assists. Max Blommquists had 5 steals on defense and Jackson Hebner had 7 boards. Jack Kuligowski and Will Swierbut combined for 23 points for the Wolves. Bryce Benson had 3 assists. On defense Kevin Curry had 6 steals, while Brandon Lutz had 7 boards.

Tarheels 33, Spartans 19: Jack Mulligan burned the nets for 25 points to lead the Tarheels, while Robbie Hetzer chipped in with 5 assists. Sean Roche had 4 steals for the defense, and Marlon Medina had 7 rebounds. Riley Ward and Kevin Gong combined for 12 points to lead the Spartans. Stephen Vournaozs led the offense with 4 assists, while Preston Bliss-Martinez had 5 steals, and Brett Pierce had 8 rebounds.

Grade 5

New Fairfield 36, Mavs 18: The full court press proved too much for the Mavs team on this day, despite how well the team did in their half court offense. Jack Hannan led the team with 6 points, while Ryan Burns, Harry Lucas, Thomas Luciano, Gavin Connors, Luke Fischer and Derrick Lewis all chipped in too. Jack Hannan, Ben Futterman, Harry Lucas and Ryan Burns all had 5 rebounds a piece, while Jack Hannan and Thomas Luciano led the team with 3 steals each.

Mavs 25, Redding-Easton Black 21: The Mavs notched their first victory of the young season behind the inside presence of Harry Lucas with 8 points. Burns, Connors, Futterman, Luciano and Hannan rounded out the scoring. The boys seemed to feed off the good energy from the Giorno tourney earlier that day and kept it going throughout the game. Garrett Norberg (7), Harry Lucas (7) and Jack Hannan (6) led all rebounders, while Ben Futterman netted 9 steals. Hannan, Lucas, Burns and Luciano had 4 steals each.

Newtown 62, Weston 29: Newtown 5B Blue bounced back from a sluggish first quarter to cruise past Weston by a final score of 62-29. Newtown used its intense pressure defense to create easy transition points throughout the game. Robert Disibio and Aidan Moulder led all scorers with 17 and 10 points, respectively. Luke Barrett, Michael Cotton and Dan Mason all chipped in with 6 points each. James Doyle and Jimmy Davies added 5 points each. Solid contributions were also received from Griffin Cross, Luke Melillo, Todd Petersen and Bryan Vander Have.

Adviserstrust.com Knicks 27 Shooting Stars 14: For the Knicks, Tucker Garrity and Ben Futterman each scored 6 points. Timmy Davis had 4 assists, Billy Bruno had 3 steals and Paul Samberg had 8 rebounds. The Stars were led by the scoring of Thomas Briscoe who had 6 points. Gabe Stewart had 3 assists, while Robbie Morrill and Jack Clark led the way on Defense.

 Blue Blazers 21, Red Devils 14: For the Blazers, Kyle Cascone and Ryan Burns combined for 16 points, while Derrick Lewis had 3 assists, Bryan Ingwersen had 5 steals and Bobby Elston had 8 rebounds. For the Devils, Andreas Nottelman and Ayden Kasbarian combined for 11 points. Will Hampford directed the offense from the point, while Tyler Clure shone on defense and Thomas Usher had 10 Boards.

Orangemen 30, The Hawks 29: Trevor Tyrrell and Jack Sullivan combined for 20 points for the Orangemen. Chris Maturo led the offense with 3 assists, while Justin Kahn had 4 steals to key the defensive effort and Easton Ricks had 7 rebounds. For the Hawks, James Schumacher and Thomas Luciano combined for 13 points, while Jacob Clements had 3 assists, Harvey Long led the defense with 4 steals and Sean McCleary had 7 rebounds.

Grade 6

Ridgefield 44 Newtown 42: Newtown tough guys overcame a 20-point deficit after a sloppy second quarter to come back fighting Ridgefield with a vengeance. Irwin Grewal, Silas Decker and Andrew DeLuca were tough on the boards, and Kyle Roche took nothing from nobody. Ryan Escoda’s fancy ball work kept Ridgefield guessing, while Liam Deakin and Nick Weiland’s smart moves moved the ball up the court, often finding Jake Perone and Adam Bergeron hungry and ready for the pass. Ryan Kost and Evan Eggleston played a physical game, but managed to stay cool under pressure, Ryan more so than Evan. Bergeron’s buzzer three pointer shrunk the deficit to two, but the clock was not kind, and time ran out for Newtown.

Grade 6

Tornadoes 25, Hot Shots 22: Balanced scoring helped the Tornadoes overcome an effective full-court press by the Hotshots as Avi Bhaya, John Finnegan, Brian Montoya, Rhett Saunders, Owen Walsh and Adam Wolff all tallied for the Tornadoes. Relentless work on the boards and on defense by Matt Lundquist, Michael Garner and Kevin Riccardi were a big part of the Tornadoes efforts, while Bobby Ward’s masterful assists helped put key baskets on the board for the victors. Bhaya’s clutch jumper at the end of the third quarter put the Tornadoes up 19-17, giving them a lead they would never relinquish, and Finnegan closed out the scoring with a steal and breakaway run-out. For the Hot Shots, no one hustled more than Brendan O’Hara and PJ Pfeiffer. Brendan had 6 steals, while PJ pulled down 5 rebounds. Kent Mullen led the Hot Shots with 10 points, including a last second shot from 30 feet at the buzzer ending the first half. Michael Narducci and Greg Brissette both played tough defense.

Celtics 30, Buckateers 26: The Buckateers held a slim lead for most of the game, before the Celtics kicked their full court press into high gear during the waning minutes of the fourth quarter to come back from a six-point deficit. The C’s offense was led by the multi-talented James Hobar who dropped in 12 points, including two key free throws with under a minute to play. Ben Drew also played well on offense and got off key shots and made nice back door cuts to keep the game close during the second half. The Celtics’ defense was led by Alex Street who was flying around the court making steals, ninja-like blocks in the paint, and pulling down key rebounds on each end of the court. For the Buckateers, Dylan Champagne led with 9 after shooting 4 for 9 from the floor and 1 for 3 from the free throw line. Champagne also had 7 steals. Jack Vaughn added 6 points and a team high 8 steals and 2 assists. Harry Eppers chipped in 5 points and a blocked shot. Travis Huzina, Matt Menousek and Sam Parsons completed the scoring.

Monstars 26, Invaders 24: The offense was led by Ryan Patrick with 8 points and a few clutch baskets late in the fourth quarter and Christian Adam. Anthony Isabella was a beast on the defensive end of the floor helping The Monstars secure their second victory of the year. For the Invaders, Ethan Aug played strong under the boards and scored 10 points to lead the offense and Tyler Gaynor played well on both ends of the court. Jack Miller was also a trooper playing through an early injury to his hand. Michael Arthur and Dominic Scalzo played well on defense with a few clutch steals to keep the game close.

Advisory Trust.com Doughnuts 32, Swishers 30: The Advisory Trust.com Doughnuts played a strong game against the Swishers. Danny Grosso led the (Dunkin’) Doughnuts with 10 points, followed by Aidan Ford’s 6. Mark Hall played a strong defensive game. Kyle Gaynor, James Heran, Josh Harper and Teddy Wojcik were all strong rebounders and Aidan Ford topped the turnovers with 3 steals. Mark Hall, Nick Harper, Kyle Gaynor, Jimmy Doutney and Ian Shull rounded out the scoring. The Swishers were led by Grant Moxham’s double double (12 points and 10 rebounds) and the tough point guard play of Ryan Mailloux who battled through the tight Doughnut press. Liam Begany had two steals and John Payne contributed 4 points and 4 rebounds. Justin Woodward hustled all game and Timmy Shaw chipped in with 6 points and 3 rebounds.

Grade 7

Newtown 63, Scarsdale 35: In the first game of the Joe Coppo Memorial Tournament in New Canaan, Newtown was victorious behind 23 points from Hayes Kelchner, 13 points from Bobby Haskins and 6 points from Mitchell Savoca. After scoring the first 10 points of the game and leading 25-8, Newtown only lead 25-18 at halftime, but poured it on in the second half behind the ball-handling abilities of Connor Barrett and aggressive defense of Lucas O’Brien.

Wilton 54, Newtown 33: In the second game of the Joe Coppo Tournament, the Nighthawks fell behind early, trailing 30-9 at halftime. Newtown rallied in the second half to cut the deficit to 9 points, but that was as close as they could get. Mitchell Savoca led the team with 10 points, Justin Dunn contributed 7 and Jack Lavelle played good defense and scored 4 points.

Newtown 51, Westport 42: In the third game of the Joe Coppo Tournament against Westport PAL, Newtown got off to a quick start behind Jack Moulder’s two three-pointers and Hayes Kelchner’s inside play and led 26-13 at half. But Westport cut the lead to two points at 42-40 before Bobby Haskins hit a three-pointer from long range to widen the lead to five, and Jack Moulder sealed the deal, making 4 of 4 from the line. Hayes Kelchner scored 21, Moulder finished with 10, Haskins had 8 and Tom Cotton netted 7 points.

Darien 44, Newtown 38: In the final game of the Joe Coppo Tournament, Newtown fell behind 35-25, but rallied to within one point late in the fourth quarter, but a long range three-pointer by Darien put the game away to clinch the tournament championship. Hayes Kelchner led the Nighthawks with 17 points and Patrick Conte played stellar defense.

Newtown 44, Darien 40: In the first league game of the season, the Nighthawks gained revenge from the Joe Coppo Tournament loss to Darien. Newtown got off to a 13-6 lead behind the jump-shooting of Bobby Haskins, but fell behind 33-19 early in the third quarter. The comeback was key by rebounding and inside scoring from Hayes Kelchner, clutch three balls by Mitchell Savoca and Jack Moulder and aggressive defense by Jack Lavelle, who made a number of key plays down the stretch. Kelchner hit 3 free throws and Patrick Conte blocked Darien’s would-be tying three-pointer in the last seconds to seal the victory.

Newtown 51, Westport 50: With just ten seconds to go in the tied game, Patrick Conte swished a free throw for the winning point as Newtown won to go 2-0 in their conference. Hayes Kelchner led all scorers with 21 points on aggressive offensive rebounding and terrific post play. The game was back and forth throughout, then Mitch Savoca got hot, hitting three three-pointers in the game. Tom Cotton also hit one of his own from the right wing. Before Conte’s free throw with the score tied, Westport held for one shot with a minute to play, but tough defense by Jack Moulder and Bobby Haskins prevented any go ahead basket.

Grades 7-8

Celtics 39, Alpacas 37: The Celtics played a strong defensive game against a talented Alpaca team. James Carney lead the Celtics with 18, Steven Faxlanger chipped in 7. Colin McCafferty and Will Corbett played strong games handling the point distributing the ball. Defensively, James Barry had another monster game pulling down 11 rebounds. The Alpacas got 16 first half points from Josh Houle and 11 from Nick Genovese in the second half. Jacob Meenan played terrific defense, while Henry Lyon had a strong inside game.

Eyes on the Prize 59, Thunderbirds 44: Dylan Tyrell scored 28 points, while Sam Duffy added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, and Steven Moccio had a solid all-around game with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals. Other significant contributions were made by Will Ballard (4 points and 3 steals), Elliott Bennett (3 points and 2 boards) and Hunter Booker (3 assists), while Andrew Robinson, Nick Lombardo and Robert Lombardo had strong efforts on the boards and defensive end. Michael Doyle and Scotty Bauer combined for 21 points and Tommy Lueci poured in 8 points off the bench. Sean Dalton played stellar defense for four quarters while keying several steals. Timmy Jaeger played a good floor game.

Newtown Celtics 49, Wolverines 42: Newtown Celtics’ high scorer was Thomas Gavel with 14 points, the assist leader was Chris Thanasoulas with 8, the leading rebounder was Forest Weather with 8 and the team had 16 steals. The Wolverines received great effort from Bryce Griffin fighting for loose balls and securing several rebounds. Adam Webber and Matt Kretz provided solid offensive performances

Newtown Lockouts 56, Wolfpack 37: Led by Matt Elias and Peyton Manning the lockout won their second game. Connor Brennon and Noah Seri had 6 assists in the victory. For the Wolfpack, Jack Procaccini led all scorers with 13 points. Max Ames did a good job on the boards, while Justin Gillespie and Jimmy Craig played solid defense.

Grizzlies 45, Fury 40: The Grizzlies notched their first win of the season with a ferocious comeback in the final period. Kieran Lynch led the charge and finished with 18 points on the day, while Nick Lametto chipped in another 6. Spencer Burden finished with 5 assists and handled the point guard duties like a pro. Adam Becket and Scott Martin were the defensive standouts for the Grizzlies. The Fury took a 26-15 lead into halftime but faded down the stretch dropping a tough one 45-40. Gordon Walsh led the Fury with 15 points, shooting 7 for 16 from the floor, including 1 for 3 from downtown. Nick Venezia added 9 points after shooting 4 for 10 from the hardwood and 1 for 3 from the free throw line. Colby Olson chipped in 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Peter Clifford played a strong defensive game and combined with Mitchell Long, Tommy Elliott, Ryan Brello and Andrew Janco for 10 points. Elliott led the team with 7 rebounds.

Big Dogs 54, CTS Micro Bulldogs 40: The Big Dogs’ offensive shooting game was on the mark led by Patrick Godino, Tyler LaCroce, Jerl Draper and Paul Whitaker. James Accousti and Colin Patrick were great in the set-up position. On defense, Thomas Stanczyk, Jack Phelps and Alex Dunleavy pounded the boards once again. Liam Palilla led the CTS Micro Bulldogs with 10 points. Matt Krasnickas led the team with 8 rebounds and Ben Dieckman led the team with 4 steals. Connor Flint, Bryan Silk and Mark Zavatsky played aggressive defense.

Cool Runnings 56, DA Bulls 45: Cool Runnings were led on offense by Jake Oliger who poured in 23 points while adding 5 assists and 8 rebounds. Charlie Fletcher and Parker Johnson were big on defense all game as they helped Cool Runnings get their first victory of the season.

Thunder 59, Huskies 56: Matt Davis and Austin Buss-Martinez combined to lead the Thunder offense with 30 points. Austin Desouza also had a strong game with 10 points and 6 rebounds allowing the Thunder to snatch the win in overtime. Trystan Wagner and Evan Cerreta anchored the defense. Bryan Kiley and Spencer Tolson ran the floor with strong guard play. Dan McCarthy, David Usher and Owen Gray each contributed with smart plays at both ends of the floor. The Huskies tried to fight back from injury but came up just short. Tim Vander Have and Hunter Cobb led the way with 33 points combined. Marc Lasorsa and Jacob Steinbrey powered the defense and Jordan Klien played well all around in the game.
