Newtown’s Heart Shows Again

Newtown’s FAITH Food Pantry, housed at St John’s Episcopal Church, has been quietly feeding people in need since the 70s. We are a no-overhead organization, completely staffed by volunteers. We get our food from a variety of sources including food drives.

In early November our cupboards were starting to get bare. On November 19, several organizations staffed a massive food drive and restocked our shelves full. Countless individuals gave time and labor, money, and food.

A special thank you should be given to Karin Halstead, the Sandy Hook and Botsford Fire Departments, Big Y, the Governor’s Horse Guard, and St Rose Church. The young people of St Rose deserve special recognition for giving of their time and providing muscle power to stock the shelves full.
