Laugh In 2006 Or Laugh Out 2005… It’s Your Choice At The Treehouse

Medical experts say laughter is healthy for you. So for those health conscience Fairfield County area residents, what better way to ring in the new year than with a belly full of laughs?

Treehouse Comedy has announces two great shows – the first in Trumbull and the second in Danbury – to end the year with some heartfelt chuckles and/or to ring in the new year with some much needed health filled laughter.

First off, on Friday, December 30, at Marisa’s in Trumbull, Last Comic Standing scene-stealer and finalist Rich Vos headlines, along with his wife, the very funny and talented Bonnie McFarlane. Showtime is 9:30.

Ms Vos often stole this network television broadcast with his neurotic living habits and hysterical off stage commentary, which moved him to the forefront of the eight-week reality show stand-up comedy competition.

Mr Vos has since spun this nationwide notoriety into more than 25 subsequent television appearances. He has become a regular on Colin Quinn’s Tough Crowds on Comedy Central along with a handful of appearances on ABC TV’s The View.

Mr Vos has also appeared on Comedy Central presents Rich Vos, Comedy Central’s The Dave Chappelle Show, Premium Blend, Tough Crowd Stands Up along with late-night appearances on NBC, MTV and HBO.

Mr Vos also has the distinction of being the first white comic to appear on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, which led to additional crossover appearances on Showtime at the Apollo and on BET’s Comics View.

Ms McFarlane will be her husband’s opening act. She was recently featured in her own HBO One Night Stand, is a regular on The Late Show with David Letterman, and has been featured on The Drew Carey Show, Comedy Central’s Dr Katz – Professional Therapist and Premium Blend, along with an appearance on Season 2 of Last Comic Standing.

On New Years Eve, The Treehouse will present Laugh-In 2006, featuring three hilarious headliners in what is being billed as “The Funniest New Year’s Eve Party in Connecticut.” This event will be taking place at The New Sorrento, 32 Newtown Road in Danbury (telephone 748-1322).

The first headliner is Peter Vouras, whose zany characterizations and unique perspectives on the world will have the audience rolling in the aisles. Mr Vouras has been featured in Spiderman 2 and Sons of Thunder, and has appeared on TV’s Law and Order – Criminal Intent.

Next up will be Treehouse original and Stratford funnyman Perry Gardner, who started his stand-up comedy career at the Treehouse Comedy Club in Norwalk in the mid 1990s. He is the winner of the 2005 Funniest Man in Connecticut contest and is a regular at clubs and colleges nationwide.

The final comic to provide comedy in Connecticut for 2005 will be Eddie Clark, whose high-energy comedy is gut-wrenchingly funny. Mr Clark, who will be making his Treehouse debut on New Year’s Eve, has been featured on TV’s Law and Order and ESPN’s Cold Pizza along with the movies Salted Nuts and Exiled.

Tickets for the December 31 event are $34.95 for the show, or $54.95 with dinner. Seatings will be at 8 pm, 8:15 and 8:30.

All tickets include the show, a balloon drop and champagne toast at midnight, and post-midnight dancing.
