GMC Into Tree
While traveling near 128 Huntingtown Road in snowy conditions on December 4, motorist Elyce Chillington, 35, of 35 Aunt Park Lane, who was driving a 2004 GMC Sonoma pickup truck, lost control of the vehicle on a downgrade and then skidded across the road, striking a tree, police said. Chillington was not injured. Police issued a written warning for failure to drive to the right.

Chevrolet Off Road
Motorist Julianne Dryer, 17, of Oxford, who was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina near 9 Park Lane in snowy conditions about 8:40 am December 4, lost control of the vehicle on a curve, crossed the road, struck a tree, went down an embankment, and then came to rest against a wall, police said. Dryer was not injured. Police issued her a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.
South Main Street
Police said they saw motorist Tony Schick, 21, of Danbury driving southward on South Main Street about 9 pm December 9, after which they stopped him to investigate.
Police said they charged Schick with driving while under suspension and with possession of marijuana. Schick was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on December 27 to answer the charges.
Five Charges
About 11:30 pm December 11, police stopped motorist Bulmaro Maldonado, 27, of Danbury on South Main Street after observing Maldonado crossing over the roadâs center line.
After investigating, police arrested Maldonado on charges of driving while under suspension, misuse of marker plates, failure to have automotive insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without a license.
On posting $150 bail, Maldonado was released for a December 29 court appearance.
Pedestrian Incident
Motorist Ali Imram Jaffery, 24, of Trumbull was driving southward on Main Street, near its intersection with Church Hill Road, about 10:40 pm December 10, when Jaffery nearly struck an unidentified pedestrian who was in a crosswalk, police said.
The pedestrian jumped out of the way to avoid being hit by Jafferyâs vehicle, police said. Jafferyâs windshield was covered with frost at the time, police said.
Police charged Jaffery with failure to grant the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, driving a vehicle with a defective windshield, and driving while under suspension. Jaffery posted $40 bail for a December 23 court appearance.
DUI Arrest
Police said that motorist Melida Lopez, 53, of New Britain, who was driving northward on South Main Street about 12:50 am December 10, crossed the roadâs center line, so they stopped Lopez to investigate. Lopez failed field sobriety testing, according to police.
Police charged Lopez with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right. After posting $200 bail, Lopez was released for a December 28 court appearance.
Main Street
While on patrol about 9 pm December 7, police said they saw a vehicle registration sticker that was partially obscured by a marker plate frame on a vehicle driven by Joseph McPhee, 63, of 68 Parmalee Hill Road.
Police stopped McPhee to investigate, after which they charged him with a registration sticker violation and also with driving while under suspension. McPhee was released on written promise to appear in court on December 22.
DUI Charge
About 11 pm December 10, police observed motorist Timothy Knapp, 20, of 115 Edge Lake Drive driving a 1994 Honda Accord southward on Key Rock Road. Knapp then failed to grant the right of way at Key Rock Roadâs intersection with Route 302, police said.
Police said they stopped Knapp to investigate and performed field sobriety tests, charging him with driving under the influence and with failure to grant the right of way. Knapp was released on $200 bail for a December 28 court appearance.
MV Charges
At about 7:47 pm December 10, police stopped motorist Kristen Fideli, 26, of Bridgeport on South Main Street for not having any illumination on her rear marker plate. After investigating, police charged her with failure to illuminate a rear marker plate, driving while under suspension, and driving an unregistered vehicle.
After posting $100 bail, police released Fideli for a December 28 court appearance.
Snowbank
About 9:15 pm December 9, motorist Shawn White, 21, of Meriden, who was driving a 2002 Buick Century near 111 Toddy Hill Road, lost control of the vehicle, crossed the road, struck a snowbank and then hit a tree, police said. White was not injured. Police issued White a written warning for traveling unreasonably fast.
Subaru Collision
Motorist Vincent Bodetti, 20, of 12 Little Brook Lane, who was driving a 2005 Subaru Impreza northward near 168 Brushy Hill Road about 10:50 pm December 4, collided with a deer, according to police. Bodetti was not injured in the mishap, police added.
Castle Hill Crash
Motorist Lauren Reagle, 17, of 5 Patriot Ridge Road, who was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus eastward near 88 Castle Hill Road about 12:09 am December 11, swerved to avoid an oncoming noncontact vehicle, but then struck a snowbank, lost control, and then struck a tree, police said.
The vehicle carried two passengers. There were no injuries, police said. Police verbally warned Reagle for making a restricted turn.
Glen Road Accident
About 3 pm December 1, southbound motorist Catherine Masi, 62, of Roxbury, who was driving a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, stopped for a stopped school bus that was letting off a student near 104 Glen Road, police said.
In sun-glare conditions, southbound motorist Kristen Mulvey, 20, of New Hyde Park, N.Y., who was driving a 2005 Honda Civic, struck the Jeep from behind, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Mulvey a written warning for following too closely.
Mitsubishi Through Fence
Motorist Nicole Naishtut, 19, of Ridgefield, who was driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero westward near 71 Head Oâ Meadow Road about 10:12 am December 1, veered off the roadâs right shoulder and went through some fencing, police said. The accident occurred in sun-glare conditions, police said.
Naishtut refused medical attention, according to police. Police issued her an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn.
Commerce Road
A two-vehicle collision occurred in front of 5 Commerce Road on December 6, police said.
Motorist John Ogrinc, 53, of Monroe, who was driving a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta southward on Commerce Road, stopped in order to make a left turn, police report. Southbound motorist Anthony Lassauze, 46, of Woodbury, who was driving a 2002 Ford truck, attempted to stop, but slid on some sand and struck the rear end of the Volkswagen, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Lassauze an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
DUI Arrest
Police said that while on patrol about 9:47 pm December 10, they encountered motorist Jonathon Catino, 21, of 24 Greenleaf Farms Road stopped at a traffic signal on Wasserman Way, near Exit 11 of Interstate 84. An unidentified person was standing outside of Catinoâs vehicle, so police stopped to investigate.
After investigating, police charged Catino with driving under the influence. After posting $100 bail, Catino was released for a December 23 court appearance, police said.

Accident Zone
Police report a two-vehicle collision in a high-accident zone on Church Hill Road, near the Blue Colony Diner.
About 4 pm December 8, motorist Scott Drzonsc, 30, of Plymouth, who was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus, attempted to pull out of the dinerâs parking lot and collided with eastbound motorist Rennis B. Easter, Jr, 55, of 57 Turkey Hill Terrace, who was driving a 1994 Geo Tracker, police said.
There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Drzonsc for failure to grant the right of way.
Flagpole Crash
About 11:56 am December 11, motorist Robert Miller, 75, of Pomfret, who was driving a 2001 Buick sedan westward on Church Hill Road, stopped at a stop sign at that roadâs intersection with Main Street, police said.
At that time, motorist Walter Murphy, 49, of 8 Meadow Road, was driving a 2000 Honda northward on Main Street, police said.
The Buick then started making a left turn onto southbound Main Street, but collided with the Honda. There were no injuries. Police issued Miller a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.
Wrong-Way DUI
State police report a head-on accident on the Exit 11 ramps for Interstate 84 about 2:30 am December 6.
State police said that motorist Drew Swanson, 48, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2003 Saab 344 the wrong way on the ramps, collided with motorist William Jacobs, 20, of Post Lane, who was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix. There were no injuries, according to state police.
State police arrested Swanson on charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving, and driving the wrong way on a limited-access highway. After booking Swansonâs arrest, state police released him on $1,000 bail for arraignment December 19 in Danbury Superior Court.
MV Violations
State police said that while on patrol on westbound Interstate 84, near Exit 9, about 5:45 pm December 5, they stopped for a disabled motorist, who was parked on the right road shoulder.
After investigating, state police charged motorist Hector Casado, 26, of Danbury with violations concerning marker plates, automotive insurance, and vehicle registration. Also, Danbury police held a warrant for Casadoâs arrest, state police said.
Regarding the December 5 charges, state police released Casado on $500 bail for a December 19 court appearance.
 Bus Vs Truck
Police report an accident involving a bus and a truck about 1 pm December 12 near 48 Mile Hill Road South.
Bus driver Karl Petersen, 52, of Danbury was driving a HART bus, which was carrying two elderly passengers from Nunnawauk Meadows, northward on Mile Hill Road South, police said.
At that time, Anthony Capozziello, 29, of 18 Sunnyview Terrace was driving a town-owned 2005 Ford F-350 flatbed truck southward on Mile Hill Road South, police said.
Due to a restricted roadway width, as the two vehicles passed one another, their exterior left rear-view mirrors collided, police said.
There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.
Truck Vs Car
A freight truck and an auto collided at the intersection of Hanover Road and Hall Lane about 9:20 am December 12.
Trucker Barry McGuire, 58, of New Milford, who was driving a 2002 Freightliner eastward on Hall Lane, stopped at a stop sign at Hall Laneâs intersection with Hanover Road, police said.
The truck then made a right turn to travel southward on Hanover Road, but collided with motorist Graeme Gorman, 30, of 36 Echo Valley Road, who was driving a 1991 Plymouth Colt southward on Hanover Road, police said. There were no injuries.
Police said McGuire told them that he did not see the Plymouth approaching the intersection.
Police issued McGuire a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.
Gasoline Larceny
Police report they were informed that a woman had pumped more than nine gallons of gasoline, which is worth more than $21, into an automobile at the Citgo gas station at 151 South Main Street, but did not pay for it and then drove off about noon on December 11.
Police said they located a vehicle matching a description of the vehicle at the gas station and stopped it to investigate. Police charged motorist Christen Cali, 25, of Monroe with sixth degree larceny. Police released her on $100 bail for a December 23 court appearance.
DUI Arrest
Police report they observed motorist Joseph Cioppa, 75, of Easton cross the center line of South Main Street several times about 11:56 pm December 9, so they attempted to stop him to investigate. Cioppa initially slowed, but then resumed driving at normal speeds, police said. After driving two miles into Monroe, Cioppa eventually stopped, police said.
After investigating, police charged Cioppa with driving under the influence, failure to obey a police officerâs signal, and failure to drive to the right. Police released Cioppa on $300 bail for a January 5 court appearance.

Huntingtown Road
At about 4:51 pm December 12, motorist George Kerr, 46, of Monroe, who was driving a 1996 Subaru Impreza, was heading southward on Huntingtown Road, police said.
An unidentified northbound motorist then sideswiped the Subaru, stopped, and then sped off, police said. Kerr was not injured. The offending vehicle was a dark sedan which now has damage to its left front fender.
