Playhouse Extending Run Of ‘Christmas Carol’

WESTPORT — Westport Country Playhouse has extended the run of its production of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic, A Christmas Carol. Additional performance will now be available on Thursday and Friday, December 28 and 29, at 2 and 7 pm; and Saturday, December 30, at 1 and 5:30 pm.

The song-filled production for ages six and up was adapted and directed by Tazewell Thompson, the Playhouse’s artistic director. Part ghost story and part festive celebration, A Christmas Carol includes more than 20 holiday songs, with dancing to propel the memorable tale. Seasonal songs, ranging from haunting to jubilant, include “Christmas Is Coming,” “Good King Wenceslas,” “O Tannenbaum,” “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear,” “The Holly and the Ivy” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” all sung live by the ensemble.

Ticket prices are $25, $35 and $48. Groups of ten or more save up to 30 percent off the regular ticket price. For group sales information call Beth Huisking, patron services manager, at 203-227-5137 extension 120.
