At a dinner meeting November 18, the membership of the International Club of Newtown elected new officers for the calendar year 2007.
Lilleba Peterson (Norway) was unanimously elected president and Patsy Rapela (Argentinia) was elected vice president. Andre Simonpietri (USA) will serve a second term as treasurer and Ellen Parrella (Austria) was elected secretary.
Also elected were program coordinators Vicky Hensel (USA) and Katja Dufner (Germany), as well as hospitality chair Heidi Mang (Germany), membership chair Loreny Hazel (Costa Rica) and as publicity chair, Wendy White (South Africa).
The purpose of the organization is to provide a setting in which people from an international background can find interesting social and cultural exchange and have an opportunity to meet people from other countries as well as their own.
