FAC To Offer Workshop,

Performance Opportunity For Poets

FAIRFIELD — Fairfield Arts Council (FAC) will host “Poets’ Turn Workshop” on Thursday, January 11, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm, at the FAC gallery, 70 Sanford Street.

On Friday, January 26, at 7:30 pm, “Poets’ Turn Evening” will then offer poets the opportunity to share their poems with an audience.

The workshop will explore both physical and vocal techniques for dramatic presentation of poetry to help participants perform their own work more effectively. The cost is $10.

Workshop participants will be invited to show off their newly acquired skills at the “Poet’s Turn Evening” the following week, where each poet may read two of their works in the FAC gallery. Coffee, tea and pastries will be served. The cost is a $5 donation at the door, and presenters will need to contact the FAC office ahead of time to reserve one of the 20 performance slots.
