The Newtown Education Foundation (NEF) announced on Tuesday, December 8, it has formed a board of directors for the foundation.

NEF’s mission is to enhance the learning experience for Newtown students by promoting innovation and creativity through collaboration with the community.

Erin Arcario, Frank Caico, Susan Burbank, Tami Ingersoll, Jackie McKendry, Mike O’Connor, Jenn Padilla, and Allyson Story will serve on the board in various capacities. Kristen Bonacci and Casey Ragan will serve as co-chairs of the board, according to NEF.

The foundation also announced Tami and Todd Ingersoll gave a generous donation to NEF, allowing the foundation to cover the associated start-up fees, and expressed its gratitude to the Ingersolls for doing so.

The NEF board will meet on a monthly basis and welcomes community input and support. The next meeting will be held January 4.
