Pistol Club To Offers CT Handgun Carry Permit Class
RIDGEFIELD â The Ramapoo Pistol Club will sponsor an NRA handgun Carry Permit course open to all Connecticut residents Wednesday, January 9, at 7 pm, at the Indoor Shooting Sports Facility, 60 South Street.
The course is accepted by the Commissioner of Public Safety and will be taught by Certified NRA Instructors. Anyone who wants a permit to carry, or purchase, a handgun in the state is required to take this one-evening class.
The $75 fee includes a precourse test, home workbook, ammunition, and targets. Handguns for the shooting portion of the class will be provided by each studentâs personal instructor. Applicants must register for this course in person between 7:30 and 9 pm any Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday when the range is open to the public. At that time students will complete a questionnaire for the Range Officer before their fee is accepted.
The club recommends that students obtain all forms needed to apply for a permit to carry a handgun from their local police department and bring them to class for an instructorâs signature.
