Not Afraid Of Herb Rosenthal
Not Afraid Of Herb Rosenthal
To the Editor:
In response to last weekâs letter written by Herb Rosenthal, if he thinks I am afraid of him, his ego is even bigger than I thought. If he thinks I am a coward for writing letters to the editor of The Bee, where were Herb and his political hatchet man, Earl Smith, at Thursdayâs Board of Ethics hearing? Mr Smith, as Democratic Town Committee chairman, was the person who filed the ethics complaint against Mr Borst just prior to our recent election. When those in attendance at the Ethics Hearing asked the committee if Mr Smith had been invited, the boardâs response was, âHe said he did not have any knowledgeâ of what had occurred. Excuse me, did I miss something? Earl was the one that filed the charges in the first place!
As far Mr Rosenthalâs comment that he does not think we ever met, we in fact have. It was at the now infamous February town meeting when, during the break, I asked him, âWhy donât you just listen to these people and do your job?â
Regarding Herb and Joe Bojnowski stopping at my house, even if I had been home, I did not realize that the people of Newtown were required to answer their doors to peddlers or anyone else. If Mr Rosenthal is truly interested in meeting with me, rather than showing up at my home uninvited and unannounced, he is more than welcome to invite me to his home at a time that is convenient for both of us. As an accused coward, I look forward to his invitation.
