‘Keeping

Everybody Fed’

Mary MacDonald, 90, of Shelton, formerly of Monroe, died December 7 in Shelton. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin MacDonald, Sr. Mrs MacDonald was born August 10, 1917, in Bridgeport, daughter of Joseph and Nora (Rezutek) Delia.

Mrs MacDonald leaves her loving family including a daughter, Clare Yacashin and her husband, Matthew, Sr, of Newtown; two sons, Edwin Macdonald, Jr, and his wife, Linda, of Shelton and Peter MacDonald and his wife, Bethany, of Gila Bend, Ariz.; a brother, Albert Yorke and his wife, Mildred, of Fairfield; a sister, Esther Wahl and her husband, David, of Stratford; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her son, Paul MacDonald, and two brothers, Joseph and John Delia, predeceased her.

Mrs MacDonald was a retired quality control technician from the Vitramon-Vishay Co., Monroe. Her interests included travel, calligraphy, cooking, reading, sewing and nature, especially trees, and her love of family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her love of “keeping everybody fed.”

A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held Friday, December 14, at 2 pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday just prior to the service from 12 to 2 pm.
