A Great 19 Years

To the Editor:

As many already know, Ritz Camera in Ricky’s Plaza will be closing in January. The corporation has decided to not renew our lease, and it is with a heavy heart that I announce that the last day to see customers is January 23.

We found out the store was closing in mid-October, and soon after the photofinishing machines were removed to a New Hampshire location. I have been trying to contact all customers that have photos or repairs still in the store, and hope all get picked up before our final day.

Although I do not live in town, I have felt like an honorary resident, as I have been commuting to Newtown for almost 19 years. I have grown to see many of your families form and grow, from preschool to graduation. Many close friendships have formed and I will truly miss all who have embraced me and my family. I will miss all who have stopped in to say hello with a cup of coffee in hand and those who have needed advice and help preserving their family memories.

I always tried to do my best, and although my future with Ritz is still uncertain, I will remember and miss you all.

Thank you, thank you all for a great 19 years.

Stop in to say hello, and enjoy a cup of coffee with me before we have to say goodbye.
