William Dorothy (Jolesch) Perry

William Dorothy (Jolesch) Perry, 96, wife of the late Robert M. Perry of Toddy Hill Road, Sandy Hook, died December 12 in Bethel Health Care.

She was born in Dallas, Tex., August 27, 1904, daughter of the late Ike and Lena Jolesch.

She was a graduate of the University of Texas and received a degree in early childhood education from Columbia University. From 1940 to 1950 she operated a preschool at her home. She studied ceramics with Jean Mann for approximately 15 years.

She was a resident of Newtown for over 50 years. She was a 50-year member of the Newtown Garden Club. For many years she was a volunteer for Newtown Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by one sister, Sophie J. Alexander, and one niece, Minalea Frailey, both of Dallas, Tex.; a daughter-in-law, Debby Perry of Sandy Hook; two granddaughters, Christine Braque of Southbury and Jill Fontaine of Sandy Hook; seven great-grandchildren, Tony, Chrystal, Ashley, Alyssa, Angel, Starr, and Kaitlyn; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Peter L. Perry, and a sister, Miriam Jolesch. As a longtime resident of Newtown she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services and cremation will be private. Calling hours were scheduled at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Thursday, December 14, from 6 to 8 pm.
