William “Bill” Tita, 79, of Danbury, husband of Margaret “Peg” (Kundrat) Tita died December 9 at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Danbury, November 14, 1934, son of Anna (Katrenich) and Peter Tita.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, he is survived by four daughters and their spouses, Susan and Robert DaPra of Sandy Hook, Debbie and Phil Clark of Newtown, Sandy and Carl Heinemeyer of Bethel, and Donna Tita Jordan of Brookfield; a brother, Thomas Tita of Danbury; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

A carpenter by trade, Mr Tita was retired from the Perkin-Elmer Corporation where he was associated with facilities operations.

He was a US Army veteran, and a member of St Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Danbury, a member of the Golden Dome Bakers, a Bingo volunteer, and a member of its former Men’s Club.

A jack-of-all-trades and knowing the importance of family, Mr Tita would look for the opportunity to put forth his technical skills by assisting all members of his family. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, December 14, at 10 am, in St Ann Melkite Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Road, Route 39 North, Danbury, with Fr John Cigan of St Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in St Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 13, at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury, from 5 pm to 8 pm.

The Panachida service will take place in the funeral home Friday evening at 7:30 .
