More Hunting, More Accidents

To the Editor:

I originally moved to Newtown because I thought it would be a safe place to raise my family. Now I am scared... scared because Newtown is thinking about a proposal to increase deer hunting. As you know, more hunting, more accidents. Perhaps the accidents are few in numbers in comparison to the hunters, but even one child killed is too much for me.

As you know, a toddler in Swan Lake, N.Y., was shot and killed in a similar situation. My yard is surrounded by deep woods so knowing that this is now a possibility is a concern to me.
