Liquid Thrown Onto Correction Officer Under Analysis
State police report an incident on December 6 at the stateâs high-security Garner Correctional Institution on Nunnawauk Road, which is under investigation.
State police said that Garner inmate Jose DeJesus, 24, allegedly threw an unknown liquid substance onto a correction officer at the prison.
Whether charges are pressed against DeJesus depends on the results of a chemical analysis of the liquid, according to state police. Garner inmates occasionally throw urine on correction officers, typically resulting in an assault charge against the inmate.
DeJesus is an unsentenced inmate at Garner, being held there on a pending charge of carrying or sale of a dangerous weapon, according to the state Department of Correction.Â
