WEST HARTFORD  (AP) — The AAA says the price of gasoline in Connecticut is down for the fifth straight month.

The AAA says that the average price for a gallon of regular gas is $1.88, down from $2.36 in November. A year ago the price in Connecticut was $3.23 a gallon.

The price of diesel fuel has also been falling. AAA says diesel fuel is down from $3.46 a gallon a month ago to $2.99.
