To Portuguese Cultural Center
DANBURY â Stage Door Productions will welcome the holiday season while at the same time offering its 2008 comedy and dinner finale on Friday, December 19.
End the year on a happy note, celebrating the season with a hot dinner buffet followed by a high-caliber comedy show featuring professional hilarious comics Buddy Fitzpatrick and Marion Grodin.
Dinner will be served from 6:30 until 8, with the show to follow at 8:30.
A native of Philadelphia, Buddy Fitzpatrick is currently a New York City club favorite sharing his comedy perspective. His act combines the skill of a great monologist with a physical style that brings his observations to life.
His act offers inventive material delivered in a self-assured style. Buddyâs stand-up made him a regular on Comedy Central with appearances on ABC and A&E. Buddy can be seen in the Damon Wayans film Harlem Aria and in The Business of Strangers starring Julia Stiles and Stockard Channing.
His television credits include HBOâs Sopranos. Mr Fitzpatrick has written, produced and performed his biographical play Sides at various NYC theatres.
Marion Grodin is a regular at top New York City clubs including Carolineâs and Gotham. She has hosted her own show at Gotham since 2000 and she has also hosted their popular holiday show, âA Very Jewish Christmas.â She has most recently headlined at the Pittsburgh Improv and continues to headline at Gotham on a regular basis.
Ms Grodin has been seen on NBCâs Late Night with Conan OâBrien and ABCâs The View. She has toured with Linda Ronstadt and Lewis Black. She knows firsthand that laughter is the best medicine having survived cancer, divorce and an inappropriate relationship to Haagen Dazs.Â
After over a decade as one of the countryâs top emcees, Ms Grodin has perfected the art of talking with the audience. This has led to her specialty of taking specific information about the audience prior to the show so that it feels as if the event were custom made just for them.
Marion Grodin has performed for 1,000-plus seat rooms and for A+ private events, including Gildaâs Club and Ethel Kennedyâs annual fundraisers.
