Rotary Seeks Candidates For Free Trip To Taiwan

Win Allen, Governor of Rotary District 7980 (lower Connecticut), announced that the district is seeking young business and professional people to take part in a four-week Group Study Exchange Team departing for Taipei, Taiwan, on March 24, 2001.

This is part of Rotary’s theme of World Peace through Understanding Between Peoples. The team of four young people, lead by a Rotarian, will study the country’s institutions and way of life, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional friendships, and exchange ideas.

Local Rotarians in Taipei will provide lodging, meals, and travel in their districts. Each member will stay with a different Rotarian family each week; this offers an excellent opportunity to learn about and enjoy the way of life in Taiwan.

To qualify, a person must be between the ages of 25 and 40, be in their occupation at least two years, and reside or be employed in district 7980, which is comprised of the four lower counties in Connecticut from Greenwich to Stonington.

The team will be decided very shortly; therefore anyone interested in further information is urged to immediately call Ed Osterman, 426-0530, or Brian Barrett, 264-7983.
