To the Editor:

The Newtown Rotary Club would like to thank all the people who came out to support our 53rd Annual Pancake Day.  It was a wonderful event to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends enjoying the best pancakes and sausages in town!

We would like to recognize Mr Steve Ford of the Butcher’s Best for his generous donation of all the sausages. Newtown Savings Bank for their financial support. Our servers – the Newtown Interact Club’s of the Newtown Middle School and Reed School deserve a hardy thanks.  The dancers of the Lathrop School of Dance always bring a festive smile of joy. Tory Gozzi and the Newtown Centre of Classical Ballet really held the attention of the crowd with a beautiful rendition of “The Nutcracker Suite.” Caraluzzi’s for always being generous year after year. We would like to thank Wade’s Dairy, Minuteman Press of Monroe, New Fairfield Press, Stop & Shop, Big Y, Stew Leonard’s, and BJ’S for the continuous support. A special thanks to Sheila, Tom, Sam and staff of Newtown Edmond Town Hall. A thank you to Associated Refuse and Dental Associates for sponsoring Amber Alert. We would like to recognize the businesses that purchased ad space on our placemats, and those that allowed us to display posters of the event. A surprise thanks to Newtown Color Center for donating the special mixing tool for our secret batter!

A very special thanks to Scudder, Sherri, Eliza, and Nancy at The Newtown Bee for coverage before and after the event.

Most of all a huge thank you to all the people, young and old alike, for stopping in for a pancake breakfast, taking pictures with Santa, and enjoying the entertainment. It is a tradition like this makes our town the special town that it is.
