Mattatuck Museum Seeks Docents

WATERBURY — The Mattatuck Museum Arts & History Center has openings for volunteer exhibit educators to lead tours for children and adults.

Exhibit educators share their enthusiasm for the history and art of the greater Waterbury region by leading groups through the museum’s collections, telling stories about historical figures and artists that make museum visits exciting experiences.

The museum will provide all training required. The only necessary qualification is the desire to help children, families, and adults learn.

In as little as two hours per week exhibit educators can ignite sparks of curiosity and witness the joy of learning. The museum is a leader in museum educational programs, receiving regional recognition and state awards.  Each year over 10,000 school children visit the museum, bursting with curiosity and excitement.

Mattatuck Museum exhibit educator training begins in mid-January. For information on how to become a museum exhibit educator, contact Marie Galbraith 203-753-0381 extension 17 or MGalbraith@MattatuckMuseum.org.
