Holiday Concert Will Benefit

Local Food Bank

NEW MILFORD — On Sunday, December 20, at 7 pm, Doug Hartline & Friends will be performing a free Christmas concert at Northville Baptist Church to benefit the New Milford Food Bank.

Doug Hartline may be one of Connecticut’s best-kept secrets. His Simple Gifts, A Gentle Presence, It’s Nice to Be Home and From the Heart CDs demonstrate his ability to write strong, memorable melodies. His style might be considered jazz with strong folk influences a la Pat Metheny meets James Taylor. Critics have described his sound as buoyant, soulful, bright, and positive.

The concert will include unique renditions of Christmas carols, hymns and popular songs. The performance will feature Hartline on acoustic/electric guitar, Ginny Hartline on vocals, Nick Bariluk on keyboards, Gary Blu on flute and sax, George Skidd on bass, and Bob Leonard on drums/percussion.

Attendees are requested to bring non-perishable goods to restock the New Milford Food Bank (financial donations will also be accepted). Needed items include peanut butter, canned goods and canned juices, cereal, and paper goods.

The church is at 9 Little Bear Road. Call 203-744-2337 or send email to DHartline@comcast.net for additional information.
