Amy Grabowski & Ryan Kundrat

Amy Grabowski and Ryan Kundrat were married on October 3, 2009, by Justice of the Peace Michelle Speirs, at Still River Café at North Ashford Farm in Eastford.

The ceremony was held outdoors on the grounds of the 27-acre farm and the bride was given into marriage by her mother, Nancy Grabowski of Newtown. An intimate reception for 50 family and friends immediately followed inside the restaurant, a renovated 150-year-old barn. Guests enjoyed a seasonal American menu based on fresh, local ingredients, much of which is grown in the gardens surrounding the restaurant.

For her wedding day, Amy chose an elegant double-faced ivory silk dress with a plunging V neckline that had been designed by Nicole Miller. She carried a bouquet of locally grown flowers and herbs.

The weekend wedding activities continued at Woodstock Hill Inn in nearby Woodstock.

The bride graduated from Newtown High School in 1997 and attended the University of Maryland at College Park. A College Park Scholar, she was on the school’s sailing team and graduated in 2001 with a double major in art history and government and politics.

Amy is president of ARK Projects, a public relations and design firm she co-founded.

The groom graduated from Lyme-Old Lyme High School in 1997, and then from Rhode Island School of Design in 2001 with a degree in industrial design. He is a senior designer at Fusion Media in Patterson, N.Y. He is also the founder and designer of Ryan Kundrat Jewelry.

Ryan is the son of Joyce and Dr Gregory Kundrat of Old Lyme.

The couple spent their honeymoon traveling the California coast’s Pacific Coast Highway, from Los Angeles to San Francisco, on motorcycles. The bride rode a Ducati, the groom a BMW.

The Kundrats have returned to their home in Bethel.
