Taunton Press Donates Books

To Booth Library

By Jan Howard

The Cyrenius H. Booth Library recently received a large donation of books from Taunton Press of Newtown.

Library Director Janet Woycik said the library is very appreciative of the donation. “They cleaned out their warehouse and donated the books to the library,” she said. “There are lots of books.”

“The books will be of particular interest for people looking forward to doing crafts in the winter,” she said.

They will also be of interest to gardeners in planning for their spring planting.

Some gardening titles include Fine Gardening Design Guides – Designing with Plants, Landscaping From the Ground Up by Sarah Jan von Trapp, The Best of Fine Gardening – Great Gardens, The Best of Fine Gardening – Garden Rooms, and The Best of Fine Gardening – Garden Design Ideas.

Woodworking titles include Classic Kitchen Projects by Niall Barrett, The Basics of Craftsmanship – Essentials of Woodworking, Turning for Furniture – Creating Furniture Parts on Your Lathe, by Ernie Conover, and The New Wood Finishing Book by Michael Dresdner.

Books on needlework crafts include Celebrating the Stitch by Barbara Lee Smith, Hooking Rugs by Gloria E. Crouce, Quilts and Quilting from Threads, American Country Needlepoint by Jim Williams, Crochet Your Way by Gloria Tracy and Susan Levin, and Sasha Kagan’s Country Inspiration – Knitwear for All Seasons.

These and many other books will be on display in the library foyer until the end of the month. Beginning in January they may be found in the non-fiction section on the third floor.
