Raymond F. Kennedy

Raymond F. Kennedy, 60, of Bethel, died on December 9 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Rosemary (Gregorio) Kennedy.

He was the father of Mary Kennedy of Newtown.

Mr Kennedy was born May 11, 1940, in Queens, N.Y., son of the late Patrick J. and Mary (MacNaughton) Kennedy. He grew up on Long Island City, and graduated from schools in Queens.

In 1960, Mr Kennedy and his family moved to Norwalk, where they had resided until moving to Bethel in 1964. He was self-employed as a printer in the Danbury and Bethel areas for several years. Mr Kennedy for many years coached baseball in both the Little League and Babe Ruth Leagues in Bethel, and was also an active volunteer with the Jimmy Fund, raising funds for cancer research. An avid bowler, he was a member of the Danbury Bowling Association.

In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by one son, Bruce Kennedy and his wife, Jeanne Marie Kennedy, of Danbury; two other daughters, Elizabeth Kennedy of Danbury and Virginia Kennedy of Bethel; two brothers, Al DiLoreto of Bellrose, Long Island, and W. Thomas Kennedy of Bethel; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr Kennedy was predeceased by his daughter, Alyce Marie Kennedy, and two sisters, Elizabeth McGowan and Alyce E. Seaman.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on December 13 at the Church of St Mary, Bethel. Burial was in St Mary Cemetery, Bethel.
