Members of Faith at Newtown offered a live presentation of the meaning behind the Christmas season on December 3.

Members of the church, which holds worship services in Sandy Hook, presented a Live Nativity in front of their gathering location Saturday evening. Members dressed as Mary, Joseph, and Jesus, The Three Wise Men, and a visiting angel, among others. A few animals also joined the presentation, gathering with the men and women within a hay-filled pen in the parking lot at 4 Riverside Road.

Shane Demers portrayed Joseph and Grace Larsen portrayed Mary, according to Tim Kuhn, pastor of Faith at Newtown. Additional participants included Cheryl Mannen as an angel; Kurt Daum, Keith Fichett and Scott Larsen as shepherds; and CJ Demers, Don Markowski and Robbie Morrell as the three wise men. The animals were provided by Baybrook Farm and Rescue of Sandy Hook, said Pastor Kuhn.

It was the second time the church offered the Live Nativity, which was timed to coincide with the Sandy Hook Tree Lighting event presented by Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity that same evening.
