Think About Safety

To the Editor:

Living in New England this time of year we are used to a lot of rainy/snowy days. Did you know that it is a state law that your headlights must be on when it is overcast or within 30 minutes of sunrise or sunset? The reason for this is not just for your visibility, it is so other cars can see you! Are the few pennies you are "saving" by not turning them on worth an accident that could potentially injure someone or worse?

Last Wednesday I was driving north on Route 25 by the landfill when it was raining and dark and multiple cars including one carrying school children drove by me with no lights on. Please think about safety before worrying about saving a few pennies!
