William E. Saint, 85, of Southbury, husband of Frances M. (LaDelfa) Saint, died November 30 at his residence. He was born in Canton, Ohio, November 8, 1928, son of Lyda (Marshall) and William Russell Saint. 

In addition to his wife, a son, Thomas R. Saint of Sandy Hook, and a daughter, Cynthia Sue Saint; a brother, James R. Austin; three sisters, Nancy Hostetter, Ann Willaman, and Susan Phorley; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive Mr Saint.

Mr Saint was a standout all-state football player at Lehman High School, a veteran of the US Marine Corps and a retired salesman. Most importantly, he was truly a loving husband, father, friend, and “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren.

An area resident since 1967, coming from Wilmington, Del., he attended St Mary Parish of Ridgefield and Sacred Heart Parish of Southbury, and was a former member of the Newtown Country Club.

Graveside funeral services and burial will take place in St Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield, Saturday, December 14, at 11 am. There will be no calling hours.
