NHS Animal Concerns Club Slates

Holiday Bazaar This Weekend

For the second year, the Newtown High School Animal Concerns Club will be holding a Holiday Bazaar, this Saturday, December 11, from 9 am until 3 pm, in the NHS cafeteria.

“This year we are offering community members the opportunity to purchase a table to sell their wares, crafts or tag sale items,” said club parent Lorrie Silber. “We are inviting people to reserve a table at $20 and have their own tag sale in a nice dry, warm setting. We are also welcoming this year, local vendors that sell Avon, Pampered Chef, Tupperware, jewelry, portrait drawings, etc.”

Newtown students can reserve a table for $5 to sell items of their choice, and the club is hoping to attract teens to sell outgrown or unwanted clothes, video games, tapes, CDs, and more.

Ms Silber called the bazaar “an opportunity for them to shop at each others tables and to also make some holiday cash while cleaning out their rooms.”

Money gathered from the reserved tables will support local and national animal organizations.

By Monday, December 6, Ms Silber said, “We already have a vendor selling chocolate covered apples and other baked goods, too. We’re looking forward to a profitable day for everyone.”

Contact Lorrie Silber at 203-426-8115, ext 205, to reserve a space.
