All SWC Honorees

Several Newtown High School athletes took home All South-West Conference accolades for their performances on the playing fields and courts this past fall. Here are Newtown’s selections:

Girls’ cross country — First Team: Anne Martino and Erin Begg; Second Team: Katie Burns and Mara Scallon.

Boys’ cross country — First Team: Dieter Gutbrod, Jake Feinstein, and Pat Sullivan; Second Team: David Klein.

Boys’ soccer — First Team: Andre Capozziello and Josh Engler; Colonial Division: Ryan Dunnigan, Hank Helgren, and Eric Fiore; Honorable Mention: Josh Barret.

Girls’ soccer — First Team: Maddy Keane and Lauren Meyer; Colonial Division: Amy Martin, Melissa Buccino, and Brittany Tolla.

Field hockey — First Team: Katie Canavan; Colonial Division: Hannah Koch and Jessica Haitz; Honorable Mention: Caroline Kingsley and Maggie Korth.

Girls’ volleyball — First Team: Abbey Doski and Emma Herring; Colonial Division: Carly Iwanicki, Jess Lynch, and Riley Wurtz.

Football — First Team: Dan Hebert, Mike Lord, Max Nacewicz, Colby Summerlin, and Alex Neufeld. Second Team: Doug Brede. Gunnar Cedergren, Matt Datin, Louis Fennarolli, and Eric McCabe. Honorable Mention: Mac Morlock.
