William W.       Coville

William W. Coville, 76, of Stamford, died December 2 at Stamford Hospital. He was the husband of Rina (Jacob) Coville.

He was born on January 31, 1928. in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of the late Leon W. Coville and Violet (Whipple) Coville.

In addition to his wife, Mr Coville is survived by a daughter, Jean Coville Dawe of Newtown; brothers, Jerry and Michael Coville of Syracuse, N.Y.; sister, Sue Lisi of Casenovia, N.Y.; and one grandson, Erik Dawe of Newtown.

 He was a model maker with Pitney Bowes for 35 years and Goodway for 14 years. He was one of the original team builders of the original ZIP code machine in Washington, D.C. He also held several patents at Pitney Bowes and Goodway. He was a World War II veteran of the US Army. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.

A memorial service was held December 8 at the Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford.
