‘Unity In Diversity’ Plans Programs

Corpus Christi Faith Community will present Unity In Diversity with host Rev Leo McIlrath of Newtown and special guests, on Charter Cable Television, Channel 21. Both on Monday, December 13, at noon and on Wednesday, December 15, at 5:30 pm, Deacon Richard Kovacs of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport will present a program on “The Diaconate.”

 On December 20 and 22, Reverend Larry Jensen of St Anthony Maronite Church in Danbury will be the featured guest.

On the following weeks, December 27 and 29, Karen Messina, executive director of Shelter of the Cross in Danbury, and on January 3 and 5, Dr Paul Hines, coordinator of the Dorothy Day House of Hospitality in Danbury, will be featured. Dr. Z. Michael Taweh, founder and president of Kevin’s Community Center in Newtown is the guest on January 10 and 12.

Each week, programs will be aired at noon on Mondays and at 5:30 pm on Wednesdays. Programs will also be aired on Comcast Cable (Channel 23), on Wednesdays and Fridays at 6 pm and noon, respectively. Comcast covers Ridgefield, Danbury, and Bethel.

 Programs highlight the history, creedal formulae and liturgical rites, special celebrations, and community action initiatives of each tradition. Leaders and representatives of every faith tradition in this portion of Fairfield County are participating in this venture.
