Slattery Helps Montclair State To Final Four

Newtown’s Matt Slattery, a sophomore defender, helped the Montclair State University soccer team of Montclair, N.J. reach the NCAA Division III semifinals in San Antonio, Texas this past week.

Montclair State, after four wins to begin NCAA tournament action, finally saw its tournament run end in a 4-0 loss to Ohio Wesleyan on December 2.

Slattery and his teammates held 11 of 26 opponents scoreless during the regular campaign and postseason.
