A Holiday Festival Worth Celebrating

To the Editor:

On December 4, Newtown Savings Bank presented the 26th Annual Holiday Festival to benefit Newtown Youth & Family Services. As festival chairperson, one of my favorite tasks is writing this thank you letter to all the people who helped make the festival such a success:

To Newtown Savings Bank, as our Title Sponsor, thank you for your support this year and all the preceding years, not only for your level of financial support, but for the participation of your people, most particularly with the Teddy Bear Tea.

To our other sponsors — Taunton Press, Union Savings Bank, and Webster Bank — for their contributions. To all those other individuals and businesses too numerous to list here who gave money or donated items and services needed to produce the festival.

To the staff of Edmond Town Hall and C.H. Booth Library for graciously allowing us the use of the facilities and for your constant help when problems occur.

To the Holiday Festival Committee, especially Jennifer Johnston, Ballet; Kate Katcher and Stray Kats Theatre Company, Plays; Maureen Birden and Katie Smith, Teddy Bear Tea; Rob Frangione and Newtown Youth Academy, Free Throw Contest; and Denise Rodriguez, Festival of Trees and general Festival co-chair .

To the staff of Newtown Youth & Family Services and to its board of directors, who worked cheerfully and tirelessly to produce this event.

And finally, many thanks to all those Newtowners and other visitors who came and enjoyed a wonderful winter day with us!

Sincerely,

Layne Lescault

Festival Chairperson
