Needs Secret Santas

DANBURY — The Women’s Center of Greater Danbury is asking the community for help during the holiday season. Several years ago the center began a Secret Santa program to help meet the needs of its clients.

For individuals, groups, or companies seeking to help, there are two ways to be a Secret Santa to the Women’s Center this year.

Through December, anyone can “adopt” and purchase gifts for an adult or a young person. For information on how to participate in this program, call Alex, the center’s chief elf, at 731-5200, ext 214, as soon as possible.

A second way to assist the center is through its wish list of items that are greatly needed. The wish list currently includes:

Gift cards/certificates for the center clients (grocery stores, fast food, mall, discount stores, prepaid phone cards) and for their children and teenagers (theaters, fun station, ice rink, bowling, miniature golf); stackable, fabric chairs (for the meeting room); driveway repaving at the Elizabeth House Shelter for women and children; a server system; women’s center website sponsor; cash donations of any amount. Anyone who is interested in providing any of these items to the Women’s Center should contact Pat Zachman, executive director, at 731-5200.
