United Way Offers Funding
DANBURY â The United Way of Northern Fairfield County (UWNFC) announced that nonprofit agencies in the greater Danbury area can now apply for funding for fiscal year 2006-07.
United Way seeks those programs from health and human services agencies that can best demonstrate their ability to address established community outcomes within four impact areas: community wellness, encouraging community involvement, increasing self sufficiency, and stressful kids and strong families. These programs must assist members of the communities served by UWNFC: Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, Newtown, Redding, and Ridgefield.
Applications for the letter of intent can be accessed at UWNFCâs website at www.unitedwaynfc.org or it may be picked up at the United Way office at 85 West Street in Danbury.
Agencies completing the letter of intent must be an affiliate member of United Way. To become an affiliate member contact Alecia Andrews, director of community building, at 792-5330 or alecia.Andrews@uwnfc.org, or online at the UWNFC website.
The process to apply for funds consists of submitting the letter of intent by noon on December 20, then completing a full request for proposal (RFP). The RFP will be issued on January 13 and will be due back by noon on February 19.
An information session will be held on January 19. Anyone who has questions should contact Alecia Andrews.
