South Main Crash
Motorist Belvy Dalton, Jr, 19, of Margate, Fla., who was driving a 1983 Mercedes-Benz 380 SEL northward near 97 South Main Street about 5:26 pm November 23, swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway, but inadvertently struck multiple guardposts along the northbound road shoulder, police said.
Dalton was not injured in the crash, according to police. Police issued Dalton a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Honda Vs Nissan
Near 51 Church Hill about 4:53 pm November 23, motorist Salim Najjar, 18, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., who was driving a 2001 Honda Accord, struck the rear end of a 2002 Nissan Maxima driven by Laurie Miller, 22, of 15-A Parmalee Hill Road, police report. There were no injuries. Najjar received a verbal warning for traveling at an unreasonable distance. Miller received a verbal warning for failure to renew a vehicle registration.
Arthurâs Café
About 7 pm November 29, police received a report of an accident involving a truck colliding with a Hawleyville business, so they investigated.
Police said Richard Bickmore, 48, of Brattleboro, Vt., who was driving a 2005 GMC box truck in the parking lot at Arthurâs Café at 133 Mt Pleasant Road, collided with a roof section of the café, damaging both the truck and the caféâs roof. There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.
Commuter Lot Crash
As motorist Robert Zegarek, 41, of Oxford, was driving a 1994 Honda coupe northward on Hawleyville Road about 6 am November 29, motorist Loyal Pond, 69, of New Milford was driving a 1988 GMC pickup truck southward there, police said.Â
The GMC then attempted to turn left into the commuter parking lot near Exit 9 of Interstate 84, but collided with the Honda, police said. Zegarek reported pain, but refused medical attention, police said. Pond received an infraction ticket for failure to grant the right of way.
Church Hill Road
Police report a two-vehicle collision near 29 Church Hill Road about 7:25 am November 29.
The accident involved Michael Szymanski, 36, of Bethel, who was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer, and motorist Maria Wicki, 47, of 26 Obtuse Road, who was driving a 1999 Dodge Caravan, police said. There were no injuries.
Police verbally warned Szymanski for passing on the right. Police verbally warned Wicki for making a restricted turn.
Jeep Vs Deer
Motorist Kevin Burland, 58, of 32 Birch Hill Road, who was driving a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee sport-utility vehicle northward on South Main Street about 5:55 am November 30, encountered a deer that entered the road, police said. The Jeep attempted to avoid the animal, but collided with it. Burland was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Wasserman Way
Motorist Douglas Mescavage, 36, of Shelton, who was driving a 1998 Mazda 626 sedan eastward on Wasserman Way about 8:10 am December 1, encountered a deer that had run onto the road, police said. The car and the deer collided, after which the deer ran off. Mescavage was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Homeless Man
Acting on a complaint at about 4:15 pm December 2, police responded to the intersection of Button Shop Road and Little Brook Lane and found Brian OâSullivan, 33, of no certain address, beneath a bridge there, near the Housatonic Railroadâs train tracks. Police said OâSullivan attempted to run away and then struck a police officer in the face.
Police arrested OâSullivan on charges of interfering with police, assault on police, and trespassing on railroad property. Police held OâSullivan on $25,000 bail for a December 5 court appearance.

New Haven Man
Newtown police report that Richard Serricchio, 39, of New Haven was arrested on December 2 at the Stamford police station in connection with past violations in Newtown.
Police said they charged Serricchio with two counts of second degree failure to appear in court, which stem from a past Newtown incident that included charges of theft of a marker plate, driving without a license, improper use of a marker plate, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to display marker plates.
After processing the arrest, Newtown police released Serricchio on $5,000 bail for a December 14 appearance in Danbury Superior Court. Newtown police then turned over Serricchio to Manchester police who held a warrant for his arrest on other charges.
Interfering
Police report that during an investigation into some suspected motor vehicle violations at about 9:19 pm November 30 at Sand Hill Plaza on South Main Street, motorist Christopher Domagala, 28, of Bridgeport provided police with a false name to conceal his true identity.
Police arrested Domagala on a charge of interfering with police, later releasing him on a written promise to appear in court on December 14.
Headlamp Problem
While on patrol on Route 302 in Dodgingtown about 12:51 am December 3, police noticed that motorist Savoeun Chitamnath, 36, of Danbury was driving a vehicle with a defective headlamp, so they stopped the vehicle. Police then charged Chitamnath with driving with a defective headlamp and with driving while under suspension. Chitamnath was released on $100 bail for a December 20 court appearance.
South Main Accident
Police report a two-vehicle accident near 151 South Main Street about 1:37 pm December 2. Motorist Robin Bernath, 42, of 62 Nearbrook Drive was driving a 1998 Volvo S-70 sedan southward, as motorist Doris Senete, 58, of Monroe was driving a 2004 Toyota Sienna northward, police report.
The Volvo made a left turn to enter the parking lot at 151 South Main Street, cutting in front of the oncoming Toyota, resulting in a collision, according to police. There were no injuries. Police gave Bernath an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn.
Sandy Hook Center
Motorist Lloyd Sturges, III, 47, of Bethel, who was driving a 2001 GMC Sonoma pickup truck westward on Church Hill Road about 10:18 am December 4, signaled to make a right turn onto Dayton Street, police said.
Westbound motorist Bryan Walsh, 38, of 7 Farm Field Ridge Road, who was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier behind the GMC, slid on the icy roadway and collided with the GMC, police report.
There were no injuries, Police issued Walsh an infraction for following too closely.
Moving Violations
Police report that on December 4 they charged motorist Klaudija Ajdinoski, 24, of 101 Head Oâ Meadow Road with making a restricted turn and with driving while under suspension. Police released Ajdinoski on a written promise to appear in court on December 20.
Highway Crash
About 8:56 am December 4, on westbound Interstate 84, near Exit 9, motorist Gerald Zelko, 63, of Houston, Texas, who was driving a 2005 Ford Expedition, lost control in snowy road conditions and collided with trucker Henry Farley, 56, of North Branford, who was driving a tractor-trailer truck, state police said.
There were no injuries. State police said Zelko committed a moving violation.
SUV Vs Bus
State police said motorist Harold Zoller, 48, of Watertown, who was driving a 1996 Geo Tracker on westbound Interstate 84, east of Exit 11, at about 8:40 am December 4, was struck by a coach bus as the bus was changing lanes. The bus did not stop after the collision, state police said. Zoller was not injured.
Toyota Accident
Motorist Gary Rocco, 53, of New Fairfield, who was driving a 2003 Toyota sedan eastward on Interstate 84, about 1,500 feet west of Exit 9, at about 8 am December 4, lost control of the auto and struck a guardrail, state police report. Rocco was not injured. State police said Rocco was traveling too fast for conditions.
Subaru Vs Honda
About 4:50 pm December 1, motorist Jessica Wexler, 22, of Trumbull, who was driving a 2005 Subaru station wagon, struck the rear end of a 1997 Honda coupe driven by John Trentacosta, 25, of 34 Yogananda Street, state police said. The collision occurred at the end of eastbound Interstate 84âs Exit 9 off-ramp. There were no injuries. State police said Wexler failed to drive a reasonable distance apart.

DUI Arrest
Motorist Linda Palermo, 50, of Bethel was driving a 2003 Volkswagen Passat eastward on Jacklin Road in Dodgingtown about 6 pm December 6, when she lost control of the auto and struck a tree, police report.
Police said Palermo failed field sobriety tests, after which they charged her with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn. After processing, police released Palermo on $100 bail for a December 20 court appearance.
South Main Street
Police report an accident involving three vehicles, two of which made contact with one another at about 4 pm December 5 at the intersection of South Main Street and Simm Lane.
A 1996 Honda Accord driven by Marc Imbimbo, 24, of Bridgeport, made contact with a 2003 Audi A-4 driven by James Guastello, 55, of New Milford, police said. Motorist Ryan Shaw, 17, of 82 Eden Hill Road drove a 1998 Acura Integra, which was a noncontact vehicle, according to police. There were no injuries.
Police issued Shaw a written warning for failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign.
Borough Incident
Police report they arrested Kevin Fitzgerald, 45, of 21 Berkshire Road on a charge of breach of peace following an incident about 5:30 pm December 3 at the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village on Queen Street in the borough.
Police said Fitzgerald allegedly became involved in an altercation with a male involving a parking space. Fitzgerald allegedly pushed the victim several times while inside the store, and also shouted obscenities, police said.
After booking Fitzgerald on the charge, police released him on $100 bail for a December 20 arraignment in Danbury Superior Court.
SUV Hits Wall
While driving a 1998 Ford Explorer near 329 Berkshire Road in snowy/icy conditions at about 12:46 pm December 4, motorist Cheryl Drown, 58, of Southbury lost control of the vehicle and slid into a stone wall, police said. Drown was not injured. Police verbally warned her for traveling too fast for conditions.
