Six Injured In High Bridge Road Accident

Six people were injured in an one-vehicle accident that occurred about 6:24 pm December 3 on High Bridge Road, police report. Three of those people were admitted as patients at Danbury Hospital.

Motorist Jennifer Aldrich, 31, of Naugatuck was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Astrovan with five passengers westward on High Bridge Road, when an unknown eastbound vehicle did not dim its high-beam headlamps, causing Aldrich to lose sight of the roadway while negotiating a curve, police said.

After Aldrich was distracted by the bright oncoming headlamps, the van drove to the right, went through guardrailing and struck a tree, police said.

Aldrich and the five passengers in the vehicle, all of whom are from the same Fan Hill Road address in Monroe, were transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of multiple injuries, police said. The passengers are Joan Dicey, 58; Nick Teller, 66; Delayne Hickler, 60; Corrine Lee, 41, and Orfelia Miranda, 46, police said.

On December 5, Dicey, Hickler, and Miranda were all in good condition as patients in Danbury Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said. Aldrich, Teller, and Lee all were treated and released after the accident.

The van is owned by The Kennedy Center, a Trumbull-based private rehabilitation organization for the disabled. Police said the accident is under investigation.
