Helping The Meeting House Shine

To the Editor:

The Board of Trustees of the Heritage Preservation Trust, which is charged with maintaining the Meeting House, is most grateful for the assistance of those in the community for making the Meeting House shine this season.

Alan Potter, operating a bucket truck furnished by Newtown Tree Service, added many new lights to the tree at the rear of the building. This tree is illuminated each year at this time in memory of James Osborne, a driving force in the preservation the Meeting House, and a long-time member of the Board.

Our thanks go also to Stan Perrone of Kesco Electric, for working with us to ensure the safety of this endeavor.

Garry Ober and his crew at Burr Farm can again be proud of their addition of a 5-foot live wreath above the front door, and the greens and red bows in our sidewalk barrels. Hanging of the wreath was graciously handled by Newtown Hook and Ladder Company.

Our thanks, and those of the entire community, go to these public spirited residents for helping to keep the Meeting House, which is the geographical and historical center of our town, bright during this holiday season.

Cordially,

Donald T. Studley

President
