Florida Woman Indicted In Threats Against Sandy Hook School Victim's Parent
Lucy Richards, 57, of Tampa, Fla., was indicted this week on four counts of transmitting threats in interstate commerce in connection with death threats she allegedly made against a parent of one of the Sandy Hook School child shooting victims.
According to a statement from the US Attorney for Southern Florida, on January 10, 2016, Richards made a series of death threats to the parent of a child killed in the December 14, 2012, shooting incident. That parent lives in South Florida.
Richards' belief that the school shooting was a hoax and never happened motivated her to make the death threats, according to the US Attorney.
If convicted, each count carries a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment.
