Robert “RJ” Tyler Marus, 28, of Bridgeport, the beloved son of Robert C. Marus and Lynn Gombas Keehn, died suddenly November 23, while at his home. Living in Newtown for most of his life, Mr Marus recently moved to Bridgeport.

He was a carpenter for North Atlantic Construction and CGM Acoustics.

RJ was known for his remarkable charm and infectious sense of humor, bringing happiness to everyone who knew him. He loved football, both as a young Pop Warner player and as a devout Jets fan.

Mr Marus dedicated his time to friends and family, remaining loyal and close to his childhood friends his entire life. He spent his last years lovingly helping to care for his grandmother and father. His family will always remember his childhood singing performances of “Achy Breaky Heart” and stories told around the “kids table” during the holidays.

In addition to his parents, his brother Cody Marus of Monroe, paternal grandmother Dorothy Davis Marus of Bridgeport, and many loving relatives and friends survive Mr Marus. His paternal grandfather, Joseph A. Marus, and his maternal grandparents, Loraine and James Gombas, predeceased him.

Friends may greet the family Wednesday, December 9, from 4 to 7 pm, in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made Teen Challenge New England at https://tcnewengland.org/donate-and-help/one-time-non-recurring-donations/.
