Free Movies At Edmond Town Hall, December 13-14
The Good Lie, a Reese Witherspoon feature that was released in October, will be the next film offered at Edmond Town Hall Theatre.
The film will be screened daily, December 12-19.
On Saturday and Sunday, December 13-14, all seven shows that are planned will be offered free of charge. Ingersoll Auto of Danbury, which has been offering at least one free movie screening each month at the theater at 45 Main Street since January 2013, has announced all of the coming weekend’s shows will be free to the public.
In The Good Lie, a group of young Sudanese men, refugees from the civil war ravishing their homeland since 1983, arrive in Kansas to start a new life. Reese Witherspoon co-stars, with Corey Stoll, as an employment agency counselor who finds herself becoming deeply involved in their struggle to assimilate and to stay together. The film also features Sudanese actors Arnold Oceng, Ger Duany, Emmanuel Jal and newcomer Nyakuoth Weil, many of whom were also children of war.
The Good Lie is, according to an email from the Edmond Town Hall Board of Managers Office, “a beautifully crafted film about the importance of family and friendship and the triumph of the human spirit over adversity.”
The film is rated PG-13 and has a running time of one hour, 50 minutes.
Evening screenings are planned for Friday and Saturday at 7 and 9:10 pm, and Sunday through Thursday at 7 pm. Matinees will be offered Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 4 pm, and Tuesday at 1 pm.
Regular tickets are $2 per person.
