Memorials For The Tree Lighting

The Newtown Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a fundraising drive for the 22nd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and luminaria display that will be held at the Ram Pasture at 6:30 pm on Friday, December 8 (rescheduled from December 1).

Donors may also contribute $10 for a bulb or luminaria to honor someone special. While the tree lighting will be celebrated on December 8, donations will be accepted until the end of December.

Contact Tree Lighting Committee co-chair Diana Johnson at 426-5418 for information on making a donation.

Marilynn Lang was a First Class Lady and Forever Friend of my Mother Carol (Anderson) Altenhof, formerly of Newtown and passed after a long & courageous battle with cancer in 2008. Our Family spent many days with The Lang’s; Briscoe, Sr., Marilynn, Briscoe,Jr., Susan and Fred Lang. We shared a Kindred Spirit of Life with The Lang’s and Briscoe, Sr., Marilynn and Briscoe, Jr. posthumously will forever live in our Hearts and Souls. Surviving the aforementioned are Fred and Susan Lang whom are my Second Family and will be so until I’m called home to be with my Mom and my 2nd Family, The Lang’s whom are sharing a Cold Cocktail with my mother 🙏🏻. Polling shows a majority of Americans support reducing the size of government, rooting out fraud and waste, seeking peace abroad, stopping fentanyl, not having men compete in women's sports, and securing our borders. Given the recent human trafficking of 15 year old girls in Danbury, immigration is not a far off issue. Democrat's reflexive opposition to these 80/20 issues is why their party approval is at an all time low.

The Left celebrated when Obama and Clinton reduced the Federal workforce, the outrage is partisan rather than principled.
