Gladys M.   Ingram

75-Year Resident Of

Sandy Hook

Gladys M. Ingram, 88, wife of the late Ernest Ingram, Jr, of Sandy Hook, died December 6 in her home. She was born in Norwalk on July 24, 1918, a daughter of John and Julia (Acquino) Cantone.

Mrs Ingram was a resident of Sandy Hook for 75 years and was a waitress for many years at her family’s restaurant, Cantone’s, in Sandy Hook Center. She was a communicant of St Rose of Lima Church.

Two sons, Ernest “Junie” Ingram, III, and his wife, Linnea, of Sandy Hook and Robert Ingram and his wife, Theresa, of Thomaston; a daughter, Jill Metcalf of Sandy Hook; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, survive Mrs Ingram. She is also survived by her close friend, Gerry Brewster of Newtown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am, Saturday, December 9, in St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery.

Friends may call at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown, on Friday, December 8, from 5 to 9 pm.
