On Wednesday, December 11, the Genealogy Club of Newtown will return to an in-person gathering for the first time since the pandemic.

The Club will hold its annual Holiday Party and Raffle in the lower meeting room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Note that is an early start time for the club.

Visitors are welcome enjoy a fun and festive time, with refreshments and a raffle of donated items. Also, several members will give a short talk about how or why they got interested in their family genealogy.

Anyone who has been thinking about seeing what the Genealogy Club has to offer, and wondering how to get started on researching their ancestors, is encouraged to attend.

Visitors are encouraged to attend, and can purchase raffle tickets. Members will receive two free raffle tickets, plus extra tickets attending in person.

Raffle items are donated, and they include an Ancestry DNA kit, a one-year Godfrey Library Premium membership, a one-year access to Genealogy Bank, genealogy mugs, books, gift cards, and more. Additional donated raffle items continue to arrive.

Wear your favorite holiday sweater and join the festivities.

Meetings of the Genealogy Club of Newtown are the second Wednesday of the month, September through June. Dues are $25 for individuals, $35 for family membership. Members receive the club’s monthly newsletter via email.

Memberships will be available during the holiday gathering, which will be hybrid so that out-of-area and out-of-state members can participate.

Programs are co-sponsored by C.H. Booth Library.
