Police Slate Holiday Food Drive

For The Needy

To collect food for area needy people, Newtown police and Redding police will be conducting a holiday food drive from 8 am to noon on Saturday, December 8, at the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street, said Police Chief Michael Kehoe.

The donated nonperishable food that police collect from residents will be given to area food banks for distribution to the needy, the police chief said.
