At The Library
C.H. Booth Library will have two programs this month suitable for its youngest visitors.
On Saturday, December 8, children of all age are invited to join professional singer-songwriter and music teacher Francine Wheeler for a holiday sing-along. The program will begin at 11 am. No registration is required â just bring your best singing voice.
Ms Wheeler is a former classical, Broadway, cabaret, swing and pop vocalist and performer. She has also worked as the music specialist at Washington Market School in Tribeca, New York City.
Her new album is a collection of acoustic music for children call Come Sit Beside Me. She worked on the album with her husband, David Cole Wheeler, and created what she calls âan intimate acoustic assembly of tuneful songs that adults will love as much as the young ones â perfect for children from infancy to age six.â
Then on Saturday, December 15, from 3 to 4 pm, children ages 4 to 10 will be decorating graham cracker gingerbread-style houses. The houses have already been built, just come in with your imagination and create a special treat to take home using candies and icing supplied by the library.
A $3 materials fee is due at registration, which needs to be done in person in the childrenâs department. This popular program fills up quickly, so anything thinking about participating is urged to call the library as soon as possible.
The library, at 25 Main Street, can be reached for additional information by calling 426-4533.
