Handmade Blown Glass Ornaments
A Hit At Holiday Show
BROOKFIELD â Handmade glass ornaments are âOne of our most popular itemsâ this year, says Judith T. Russell, Brookfield Centerâs Gallery Director and manager of the eight week annual holiday exhibition which runs through December 31.
This year is the 32nd such event hosted by the nationally respected non-profit school for fine craftsmanship. Ms Russell notes one extraordinary sale of 40 artist-made glass ornaments to one highly discriminating shopper who will use them as corporate gifts for her clients.
The popular sales event has become known as a place to find artful gifts of lasting value designed and made exclusively by American artisans. Customers from throughout the region make an annual pilgrimage to explore the artful home furnishings and wearable art for the body on display made by more than 400 artists from across the nation which are tastefully displayed in gallery settings on three floors of the centerâs circa 1780 historic restored grist mill building on Route 25 which overlooks the Still River at Halfway Falls.
All sales support the participating artists and BCCâs extensive studio arts educational programs which promote and preserve the skills and values of fine craftsmanship, creativity and good design.
The event is open 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday, and Sundays from noon to pm. Admission is free. The fair will be closed only on Christmas Day.
